What Nicholas says:

I trained as a boxer from an early age, competing in national championships. I then spent years in fitness and weight training gyms as a balance to a career in IT Consultancy and sitting at a desk. But I missed the thrill of contact sports. So, in addition to my Krav Maga training and teaching I have also trained in Aikido for the past 16 years and I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt.

When I started Krav Maga I discovered that is a perfect counterpoint to Aikido with its emphasis on real life self-defence and simple, direct yet highly effective movement. I am now looking forward to years of Krav Maga training. I am currently a Brown Belt and I am preparing for my black belt grading in Krav Maga too.

In addition to Krav Maga I love to keep fit, particularly plyometric training. I also practice yoga daily even if it’s only for 30 minutes. The endurance of one and flexibility of the other ensures injury free Krav Maga – it is after all a contact combat sport. Oh, and I continue to be a happy IT Consultant by day.
